How do you view Sterek and canon?

We’ve seen debates about whether people want to see Sterek go canon, and how they’d like it to go canon. We are looking to see how you view Sterek integrating into canon. What lead up has there been, where do you see it going, how do you see it fitting into canon? Do you see it becoming a canon romance; why or why not? Is it a slow build, is it a fast, messy relationship, is it the sort where they break up and get together a million times before the end, or a last-minute get together as the show closes? Why?

We know that Sterek means many things to many people for many reasons, so for this prompt we are looking to catalog what it means; what does it mean to you, what do you think it would mean for society? What would it mean for media in general, and what would it mean for entertainment media in specific? What would it mean for this show? What would it mean to the characters and their development?
